B Read the blog post. Find three things that stores do to make us buy more things.
Never go to the grocery store when you’re hungry!
I go grocery shopping most weekends, but I don’t like it. I go early, and I don’t waste time. But today I went after work to get some eggs for dinner. Big mistake!
When I walked in, I turned right, as most people do. Stores always put their sale items to the right. I put some cheese and some meat in my cart because they were on sale. Then I saw the desserts. All of them were on the middle shelf. Did you know that stores put expensive things on the middle shelf because that’s where customers look first? I put two desserts into my cart. Then I smelled the bread. Stores know that fresh bread makes people hungry. Yep, I bought bread, too. I now had many items in my cart! On the way to the checkout, I counted 12 things but no eggs. EGGS! I almost forgot. I went to the egg shelf, but there were none left!
PAIR WORK What are your shopping habits? Tell your partner.
